Frequently Asked Questions
Could they be dangerous?
Each piece of artwork artwork is made with neodymium magnets, the most powerful
permanent magnets in the world. Artwork utilizing bare magnets can be a
bit dangerous if mishandled as neodymium magnets can chip or break if they are
allowed to slam together. Larger magnets can pinch skin and fingers if
they are allowed between two magnets coming together. Artwork made with
the magnets completely encased in wood are generally safe, but should not be
considered toys.
Can't you make this type of artwork without strings?
Not according to our currently accepted laws of physics. Such an
arrangement would violate Earnshaw's Theorem. That's about as scientific
as we get. You can read more details about this in
Wikipedia:
Earnshaw's Theorem. What if a string breaks?
Sometimes people just can't resist touching this type of artwork to see if it is
"real". Sometimes this results in a string or cable being pulled loose
from the piece.
These can sometimes be repaired by the customer. If the customer is unable
to fix it, the piece can be shipped back to us for repairs. To decide the best thing for your
situation, please email us at

Could you change the wood type or color of a particular piece?
Yes, most pieces can be made with your choice of wood type or color. This would then be a custom piece and would be priced accordingly.
The price is usually not affected a great deal by the choice of wood unless you
choose a really exotic wood type. How do you ship the artwork?
We ship exclusively through UPS. We have found that they take the best
care of our art pieces of any carrier. Each piece is carefully and
securely packaged using foam and other padding as required, in a sturdy box.
We fully insure each piece to guarantee that you receive the artwork in
perfectly new condition. When I go to your home page, the first large image
is of a piece I cannot find anywhere else on your site. Where is it?
This is a picture of a custom, one-of-a-kind piece that we built for a local
executive. We will create something similar to this if you like, but will
not duplicate it exactly, as it will remain one-of-a-kind. |
